High-Density Mobile Storage features units mounted on wheeled carriages that run on tracks in the floor. Rather than having to allow for an access-width aisle between each storage unit, mobile systems create the aisle wherever the operator wants access.
The carriages are compacted to create the accessible aisle by one of three methods: manually, mechanical assist or using powered push-button controls. By far the easiest to operate and, therefore, the most accessible systems are powered. In addition, powered systems offer programming flexibility and additional safety features which are described below.
By compacting the storage units, the space saving for a building owner/professional is significant. Switching from stationary storage to high-density mobile storage reduces the amount of floor space required by 50 percent or more. This allows more storage to be located in smaller areas and/or near the workstations where it is needed, thus reducing the amount of travel required for access.

Powered
Aisles are opened with the push of a button. The systems have a variety of safety features as well as programmable capabilities to allow access while protecting people and the materials stored. Powered systems allow carriages to be moved effortlessly, and aisles may be entered while carriages are in the process of opening to save time.
Mechanically assisted
Aisles are opened using a soft-touch three-spoke ergonomic handle which always present a handle in an easy to operate location. Hub locks on the handles may be used to secure the system from unauthorized access, and safety systems can provide “in-aisle safety” to prevent access while another aisle is in use.
Manual
Aisles are opened with a handle. Typically used for only the smaller size systems that have infrequent use, manual systems provide an economical solution for increased storage capacity.
