A Vision Takes Its Form To start, our representative showed the NMWA staff similar Spacesaver installations to help them choose the best storage solutions for their collections, considering functionality and budget.
With these planning and design details established, our local representative worked with NMWA’s architect and a third-party consultant to establish a master inventory list of their collections and learn about the solutions they were looking for. It was this master inventory list that helped to guide the mix of systems that would ultimately make up the final layout. From there, plans were revised to ensure the resulting systems would work best in the space – then and in the future. Once all parties agreed upon a comprehensive solution and construction plans were approved, the solutions were shipped, and the unified team got to work. Within the space is a comprehensive mix of art racks, museum cabinets, stationary shelving, specialty art tills, and more. Lateral Art Racks Mechanical Assist High-Density Mobile System
Paired with a renovation of the building’s exterior, the museum’s refreshed interior has prepared it to support generations of artists and enthusiasts to come. Within the space, is a comprehensive mix of art racks, museum cabinets, stationary shelving, specialty art tills, and more. The 4th floor library and artists archives feature a combination of Spacesaver Cantilever shelving and Flat File Cabinets, safely storing print resources and a diverse collection of rare and unique items, including artists’ books and magazines. Over the course of the project, we provided NMWA with comparable solution options and budget numbers. This allowed us to fine-tune and value-engineer components to offer the museum the best mix of products to fully support its unique collections, which encompass works of art in many mediums and a wide variety of significant archival materials that support the organization's mission.
