Building a new dealership is a complex undertaking that requires the right partners. When Team Ford in Alberta set out to replace its aging facility, they turned to Rousseau to create a tailored solution that met the unique needs of both their service and parts departments.
After nearly 30 years in the same building, Team Ford made the decision to demolish and rebuild. The new facility required a complete overhaul of its service workspaces and parts storage systems.
Create a modern, efficient service department for technicians, along with a highly organized, industry-specific storage system for parts.
To ensure they made the right investment, Team Ford researched solutions across multiple dealerships within their network of 32 locations. They evaluated both newer facilities and those built 10–15 years earlier to understand how systems had evolved. After reviewing several manufacturers, they selected Rousseau Metal Inc.
Working closely with Waymarc Industries, Rousseau’s regional partner, Team Ford collaborated with sales representative John and lead designer Shawn to bring their vision to life. Together, they designed seamless, wall-to-wall workstations tailored to each technician—maximizing workspace while maintaining a clean, cohesive look. Details like concealed leveling glides ensured both functionality and aesthetics were prioritized.
For the parts department, the team worked hand-in-hand with the Parts Manager to optimize every inch of available space. Through sketches, conversations, and iterative layouts, Rousseau delivered a highly customized solution that aligned perfectly with operational needs.
The new service department now offers a clean, organized environment with durable workstations and ample storage for every technician. The wall-to-wall design provides significantly more workspace compared to traditional toolboxes—one of the biggest advantages noted by the team.
In the parts department, a combination of shelving drawers, mini-racking systems, and hanging panels allows for efficient storage of both small and irregularly shaped items. The result is a flexible, industry-specific system that improves accessibility and organization.
Beyond operational improvements, the upgraded facility has also helped address a critical challenge: recruitment. In a competitive labor market, the modern, well-organized workspace has become a strong selling point for attracting skilled technicians.
Team Ford credits the success of the project to Rousseau’s collaborative approach and willingness to customize solutions. From concept to completion, the partnership ensured every requirement—no matter how unique—was met.
Today, the team continues to benefit from a workspace that is not only functional and durable but also tailored to their exact needs.
